The RX 6950 XT with 18Gbps memories would arrive in April, a little earlier than planned

Although a few days ago a rumor came out saying that the RX 6X50 XT would arrive between June and July, now the leaker Coreteks responded to the original rumor tweet by saying that the RX 6950 XT is actually planned for a few months early, specifically mid-April.

In addition to claiming the date was wrong, Corteks also claims he’s never heard of an RX 6850 XT or RX 6750 XT, so perhaps those charts don’t actually exist. There is also the possibility that he has not heard about them yet because they will arrive between June and July as Greymon said, although this we cannot know yet.

Going back to the RX 6950 XT, this card would basically be a higher clocked, 18Gbps memory version of the RX 6900 XT, so launching in April makes a bit more sense. On this date AMD would manage to stay competitive against the RTX 3090 Ti, and at the same time would not launch the card so close to the RX 7000 line, avoiding customer anger. Recall that AMD reaffirmed that the RX 7000 line will arrive later this year, so customers would not be very happy if they spend $ 2,000 on an RX 6950 XT and within months AMD itself replaces it.

Given that this is all about rumors for now, and especially now that there are different opposing rumors circulating, we recommend taking all this information with a grain of salt. Possibly all this information will be clarified once we get closer to its launch and everyone has more accurate information, so we just have to wait.

Do you think launching the RX 6950 XT in April makes more sense or is it still too close to the launch of the RX 7000?
