Hill Helicopters had a clear goal with its HX50 helicopter – to create something worthy of the 21st century and incorporating all the modern technologies. This is also how this unique helicopter was created, which is intended to go mainly not to companies providing services, but to private owners.

Therefore, each HX50 helicopter will be unique in its own way, because it is tailored perfectly to the customer, keeping the most important basics, but even allowing the main rotor to be modernized. It is therefore not surprising that this creation costs almost half a million British pounds, looking at the modern technology, great looks and level of sophistication even of the cabin. However, such a high price did not prevent the HX50 from selling almost 350 copies in pre-sale within a few days.

In terms of capabilities, the HX50 will fly at 260 km / h, offering a maximum range of 1,296 km and a payload of up to 798 kg. The intervals between engine overhauls will be 5,000 hours, which is not a bad result for a helicopter, which will be mainly in the hands of private owners. However, it is difficult to say what the final HX50 will look like in all details. While it shouldn’t change what’s most important, that is, the basics, it’s still a prototype that must pass flight tests in 2022 before reaching customers by 2023.
