We may see RTX 3000 Ti laptop graphics at CES 2022

A new leak points to Acer laptops with updated graphics chips.

Recently, rumors have been circulating around the network about the upcoming update of Nvidia mobile graphics cards, which will be built on the latest high-performance graphics cards such as the RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 Ti. And now another retail leak confirms that new graphics cards will appear very soon.

French retailer pc21.fr lists the new Acer Nitro 5 with an Intel Core i7-12700H processor, RTX 3070 Ti and 8GB of RAM. Of course, neither this video card nor this processor is yet available on affordable laptops.

The Core i7-12700H comes as no surprise. We expect the 12th generation chips to be released very soon, given the recent release of Intel’s Alder Lake S-Series for desktop PCs. But what strikes us as surprising is the inclusion of the RTX 3070 Ti. At least it seems so. This marks a mid-gen refresh for Nvidia, which promises another fresh boost to the manufacturer’s mobile line before new graphics cards roll out at the end of 2022.

Given the timing of the leak, we wouldn’t be too surprised if new graphics chips for gaming laptops show up at CES 2022 in January. In the meantime, we’ll just have to wait and see what Nvidia has to offer, but things are looking promising.

DON’T WORRY, RTX 4080 WILL COME ON SCHEDULE!

According to rumors, the release of the next cycle of RTX 3000-series graphics cards may seem shocking to anyone who has been waiting for the release of the RTX 4000, but don’t worry – upcoming graphics cards, apparently, continue to follow the schedule.

Nvidia did something similar for RTX Super graphics cards back in 2020, refreshing its line of gaming laptops earlier in the year it released the RTX 3080. And it makes sense.

Because even though users who play on gaming PCs will likely get new graphics cards later this year, laptop versions of graphics cards probably shouldn’t come out at the same time. Instead, the RTX 4080 for laptops probably won’t arrive before CES 2023.

These RTX 3000 Ti GPUs, if real, will serve as a bridge between two generations of laptop graphics chips. This update probably won’t be enough for those who already own a gaming laptop released in the last two years, but it will come as a pleasant surprise for users planning to buy a new laptop in early 2022.
