Sharing our contact profile with someone is not easy in WhatsApp. Fortunately, that may change soon.
How do we share our profile for a WhatsApp contact if we don’t want to give our phone number to someone? Well, we will either use a special link or we need to generate a QR code that other users can scan. It’s a bit complicated, isn’t it? However, as reported by WABetaInfo, a feature is being tested that may soon facilitate the whole process.
As you can see in the screenshot above, instead of the option to generate a QR code, there is the share icon, well known to everyone from other applications. After clicking it, we get the option to directly send or copy a link to our WhatsApp account, which we can then share in another messenger.
The novelty was discovered in the beta version of Android app 2.22.9.8. The description of the feature seems to indicate that it is limited to business accounts for now, though it’s possible that a different description is simply visible in these accounts. Anyway – work is ongoing and we do not know when WhatsApp will start releasing the novelty in the stable version of the application.
