Your smartphone drains quickly? This may be the fault of Google News

Android smartphone users have started to report problems with the battery draining quickly and the device overheating. The fault may lie with Google News and the Camera app.

Service 9to5Google He noted that more and more people are complaining that on their smartphones the Google News and Camera apps remain open for hours after using them. This in turn causes the phone to heat up excessively and lose the battery quickly. This seems to be due to a communication problem between the two applications. Because normally, Messages allows us to quickly take a photo and send it to someone, without having to switch to a separate program. And while it’s handy, in this case it keeps both applications open for a long time.

The problem seems to be bigger, however, as users report that it occurs even when they just opened Google News without typing a new message or using the Camera feature. For now, the only way to avoid overheating and quickly draining the battery is to manually close the app after each opening. You can also revoke Google News’ permission to access your camera, at least until a revision is issued by Google.
