Moscow police managed to apprehend two cryptocurrency fraud suspects worth 45 million rubles. Moreover, this is not about the pyramid, but about the deception of only one victim.
“Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Fili-Davydkovo region detained a man who is on the federal wanted list on suspicion of embezzlement of funds by fraud,” said the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Irina Volk.
One of the suspects rented an office in Maly Kislovsky Lane, where, with the help of two accomplices, he allegedly organized a bank room. After that, he contacted the victim and offered to buy “103 units of cryptocurrency at a lower cost” for 45 million rubles.
“Later, the victim came to the office, where he transferred the money to the suspect’s accomplices. One of them took the money and disappeared in an unknown direction, ”the representative of the Russian Interior Ministry said.
In connection with the statement of the victim, a criminal case was initiated under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud committed by an organized group, either on an especially large scale, or entailing the deprivation of a citizen’s right to a dwelling).
Police detained two suspects – one of them is currently under house arrest, and a preventive measure against the other has not yet been selected. The third suspect is still wanted.
Recall that in March this year, a resident of Tashtagol lost 790,000 rubles after scammers lured her funds under the pretext of investing in cryptocurrencies.
