A developer claims to have created a tool to remove the LHR from the RTX 3000

Update: The files were published and not only does it not work but it also fills your PC with Malware, so do not download this supposed tool.

original note:

Although there are already multiple solutions to get a very good performance in mining in the RTX 3000 with LHR, until now there is nothing that manages to get 100% out of Ethereum mining. However, that could change on February 26 with the possible release of the LHR v2 Unlocker tool.

First of all, we clarify that we have our doubts about the veracity of the existence of this tool. *********** He posted some screenshots on his Github and promised to publish them on February 26, but we don’t understand why posting the screenshots without launching the tool if in theory it already works without problems, which casts doubt on whether this tool really exists.

Tool to remove the LHR of the RTX 3000

Assuming that the tool really exists, when we run it we will find a screen that allows us to read, modify and rewrite the BIOS of the current GPU, as well as modify an existing BIOS file if we have the GPU installed in a RIG instead of in our PC .

If we select the first option, it will allow us to choose which GPU to extract the bios from, what task to perform, and where to save a backup of the current bios just in case before flashing the new modified BIOS on the selected GPU.

Finally, it will show us all the steps as they are carried out, to see what state the process is in.

Supposed performance screenshots of the tested LHR GPUs are also shown on the project’s Github page, showing that it appears to work, though again, we have doubts about the veracity of this software’s existence. It is also clarified that modified drivers are needed that will be provided with the tool, so it seems that both bios and drivers will have to be modified.

It remains to wait until the 26th to find out if this software really exists, and if it will finally be possible to completely bypass the LHR protection of Nvidia GPUs or not. If the project is published, it will be published in this link, so stay tuned if you want to try it in case it really works. (UPDATE: IT WAS PUBLISHED AND IT IS ONLY A MALWARE INSTALLER, THE LINKS WERE REMOVED AND WE WARN YOU NOT TO DOWNLOAD IT)

What do you think about this “LHR v2 Unlocker” tool? Will it really exist or is it just an attempt to attract attention?
