A new version of the Chrome browser has been released with accelerated page loading

The American IT giant decided to end the difficult year for the company in 2020 with the release of a new 87 version of the proprietary browser with a reduced level of processor resource consumption. The latest version of Google Chrome is already available for download to users on all platforms.

As noted by the developers in the official blog, the reviewer demonstrated the highest performance in the history of the project based on the test results. This is primarily about launch speed, which has increased by 25 percent, and a 7 percent reduction in web page load times. The mobile version of Google Chrome for Android and iOS also loads web pages almost instantly.

Employees of the company argue that the browser has begun to consume much less resources. The load on the central processor (about five times) and RAM has been significantly reduced, since in the new version, preference is given only to the active tab with which the user is currently working. This, in turn, allowed to reduce power consumption and increase the battery life on laptops up to one and a half hours.

It is also reported that a number of dangerous vulnerabilities have been fixed in Google Chrome 87, including Slipstream, which allows hackers to bypass firewall protection and gain remote access to the TCP / UDP service. In addition, a menu was added to the desktop version with a list of open tabs and quick search through them, and support for simple text commands appeared in the address bar for performing the most common actions, for example, “clear page browsing history”, “change passwords”, etc.

It is already known that in the next release, the developers promise to add another useful innovation – thematic cards, thanks to which the user can track which tabs he has opened in the past, or visit resources of similar topics.
