AAA Wanted GeForce RTX 3090 Ti: January is over and not even the shadow of the video card

At the beginning of last month, precisely on January 4th, NVIDIA anticipated the arrival of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, a new video card with higher specifications than the RTX 3090. Of that model NVIDIA promised more information “later this month“, i.e. later in January. January has passed and not even the shadow of the RTX 3090 Ti, silence.

The GeForce RTX 3050, which arrived last week, was also announced at the same event, while we really don’t know anything about the RTX 3090 Ti. Our attempts to find a release date, even if only a hypothetical one, have failed. As we have been able to report in recent weeks, the rumors about the new top of the range of the RTX 3000 series say that there would be unspecified hardware and software problems at the origin of the delay. Nor can it be ruled out that the company has decided to postpone its launch in order not to overshadow the debut of the RTX 3050.

Someone, we already know, will be saying: well, but what does it matter to us, the card will arrive on the market at such high prices and so little availability that it will become unattainable for almost all fans (or people of common sense). Of course, very true, we are just pointing out how NVIDIA has simply failed to fulfill its promise, we are not saying that our life is linked to the release of the RTX 3090 Ti (you also live well with the RTX 3090 …).

In the meantime, the work to bring the card to the market does not seem to have stopped, as evidenced by the “teaser” of the overclocker Vince Lucido regarding the new EVGA Kingpin for liquid nitrogen enthusiasts. We just have to wait for good news from NVIDIA or some clarifying indiscretion.

The GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, we recall, is based on a fully active GA102 GPU with 10752 CUDA cores, 336 Tensor cores and 84 RT cores, while the reference frequencies should be equal to 1560 MHz of base and 1860 MHz of boost. The RTX 3090 keeps you 24GB of GDDR6X memory like the RTX 3090, but the chips are set at 21Gbps instead of 19.5 Gbps. The memory bus also remains at 384 bits for a memory bandwidth of 1008 GB / s.

Given the recent price increase of the Founders Editions, NVIDIA could price the RTX 3090 Ti at 1999 euros or over 2000, considering that the RTX 3090 starts at 1649 euros. The real price on the market, due to the well-known dynamics that have been impacting for a year and a half now, should settle between 3000 and 4000 euros (as suggested by some rumors).
