AMD confirms the launch of Ryzen 3000 and Navi in the third quarter of 2019

In recent months, a stream of reports has claimed that AMD will launch new products manufactured on 7-nanometer technology during the third quarter of the year. AMD now officially confirms that the Ryzen 3000 series, second-generation Epyc processors and graphics cards in the Navi family will be launched in the third quarter of this year.

During a meeting with shareholders, AMD’s CEO Lisa Su confirmed the plans for the company’s product launches. During the third quarter of the year, the company will launch both processors and graphics cards manufactured on TSMC’s 7-nanometer technology, both on the consumer side and the server side.

An overview of the product plan for the third quarter of 2019 lists both the Ryzen 3000 processor family and the second-generation server processors in the Epyc series, both of which are based on the Zen 2 architecture. On the graphics side, graphics cards based on the Navi architecture will also be launched during the third quarter, which has been known before.

It is worth noting that the already available Radeon VII is listed together with Navi for the third quarter, which can be interpreted as meaning that Radeon VII will continue to be AMD’s performance card while Navi covers the middle class. Previous information that Navi cards end up at lower price levels than Radeon VII supports this interpretation.

This means that AMD’s updated product portfolio will be based on 7 nanometer manufacturing technology across both processors and graphics cards during the third quarter. The product plan does not mention which products will be launched at the beginning of the third quarter of the year, which begins in July and runs through September.

AMD will also showcase the next generation of gaming-focused products during the “Next Horizon Gaming” event at midnight on Monday, June 10, the night before Tuesday, which will likely mean that the company will reveal further details about the Ryzen 3000 processors and Navi architecture.
