AMD here are the new Ryzen 3 3100, Ryzen 3 3300X processors and the B550 chispet

AMD expands the Ryzen 3000 line of desktop processors – unveiled last year – e announces two new mid-range models, it is the Ryzen 3 3100 he was born in Ryzen 3 3300X; the new CPUs debut together with another important novelty, the B550 chipset, intended for mainstream motherboards, as well as its predecessor B450.

The Ryzen 3 3000 series use the same AMD Zen 2 architecture at 7nm of the more powerful models, support the SMT technology (Simultaneous Multi-Threading), obviously keeping the same AM4 socket and being backwards compatible with the previous generation cards.

Let's see in detail the characteristics of the two new processors, both quad-core with TPD set to 65W:

  • Ryzen 3 3100: 4c / 8t – 3.6 / 3.9 GHz – 16MB of Cache L3 – TDP 65W
  • Ryzen 3 3300X: 4c / 8t – 3.8 / 4.5 GHz – 16MB of Cache L3 – TDP 65W

The suggested prices, undoubtedly very interesting when compared to the Intel competitor, are $ 120 for Ryzne 3 3300X and $ 99 for Ryzen 3 3100; for availability, however, we will have to wait for the month of May. As for the B550 chipset, AMD has not gone unbalanced, only confirms the full support for PCI-E gen 4.0 standard and availability for the month of June with proposals from partners such as ASRock, ASUS, MSI, GIgabyte and Colorful.
