AMD lowers the price of the compact Radeon R9 Nano

The Radeon R9 Nano is an impressive piece of hardware. At just 153 millimeters in length, which qualifies the cards for the Mini ITX category, AMD squeezed in a full-fledged Fiji XT circuit – in addition with significantly lower energy consumption. Hook? A price tag of close to SEK 7,000 for the Swedish market.

Despite its small size, the R9 Nano is equipped with 4 GB of HBM memory and the same 4,096 stream processors as the big brother Fury X. Thanks to lower frequencies, among other things, the TBP value was reduced to just 175 watts, compared to 275 watts for Fury X and 250 watts for Nvidia’s flagship Geforce GTX 980 Ti.

Now AMD lowers the target price from 649 dollars to 499 dollars, which should correspond to approximately 5,500 kronor on the Swedish market. A level between the thumb and forefinger means a price in line with the Geforce GTX 980, where AMD’s compact graphics card is a strong alternative in terms of performance.

When the updated price will take effect for Swedish stores is not yet known, but official information states that the new level will take effect soon.
