AMD Radeon R9 380X over 70 percent faster than R9 290X

While Nvidia in 2014 introduced the architecture Maxwell and is preparing the new monster circuit GM200, it is quiet from rival AMD, which has been forced to respond with price reductions or as it is officially called “promotions”. Instead, AMD is believed to be using the time to work on a major breakthrough with the next architecture.

Now what is said to be the first performance test with “Radeon R9 300” is published, which provided that the information is correct should be the upcoming flagship R9 380X. The screenshot from the Chinese forum Chiphell reveals an almost astronomical result in 3DMark 11 “Extreme” where the final score is X8121 – 40 percent over a Geforce GTX 980 or more than 70 percent over the Radeon R9 290X.

The high result could mean that the screenshot is fictitious, but it is also not possible to rule out its legitimacy. This is because the graphics card is believed to be equipped with as many as 4,096 stream processors, and that the company’s engineers on Linkedin have revealed that it will have a new memory type High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) and can consume as much as 300 W. However, the result is significantly higher in percentage against previous leaks.
