AMD Radeon RX 590 with 12nm FinFET process

It seems the biggest mystery of the new graphics card from Reds has been solved. It is clear from the photos that the AMD Radeon RX 590 will have a graphics core manufactured using the 12nm FinFET process.

This AMD model is from the beginning of its debut in the great “gossip IT department” raised many questions. Ordinary refresh with beaten clocks? Taking advantage of a lower technological process? Maybe changes in the architecture that would give the GPU on them a fully-fledged possibility of adopting the name Polaris 30. One thing is certain – the Radeon RX 590 is not an invention, but a real product, the release date and price of which were revealed by the service from the Far East several dozen hours ago. Of course, AMD wants to hit the competition with such a product, namely Nvidia’s oversight with the development of the mid-market. Well, it wasn’t the best idea to focus on the high end consumer segment with the new GeForce RTX.

The above photos taken by author from HardwareLuxx confirm that the Radeon RX 590 will use a 12nm GPU made in FinFET technology. What does this mean for us? Higher clocks and higher thermal efficiency, which in combination will translate into final efficiency. How much? Time and tests will show, although we should not count on anything more than a small (re?) Volition in the middle segment, which may, however, outshine Nvidia with its new GTX 1060.
