AMD Radeon Pro Vega 20 appears to the world

A few days ago, I informed you about the Radeon Pro V340 card, which was initially considered the first model equipped with a GPU made in 7nm technology, but information from AMD only a day after the leak refuted this thesis. Fortunately, we didn’t have to wait long for the appearance of 7nm chips – I present to you the AMD Radeon Pro Vega 20 card.

Traditionally, I warn you that these are only leaks in which there is a lot of truth, but also a grain of uncertainty. This is certainly for performance issues (due to the early version of the drivers and overall system optimization), but the rest doesn’t change often. The Radeon Pro Vega 20 was announced for the professional market some time ago, but the details about it from AMD were scared of us. We only know that the systems used there (due to the 7nm process) are characterized by twice the density of transistors, two times better thermal efficiency and 35% higher efficiency compared to the 10nm Vega 10 GPU.

Today, however, we have received a leak about the AMD Radeon Pro Vega 20, allowing us to take a look at its performance. The test chart in Ashes of the Singularity made in 4K resolution using the DirectX 12 API is presented above. However, it is worth recalling that this is performance offered only by early versions of the drivers. The card is to be equipped with the above-mentioned Vega 20 core made in a 7nm technological process. It is to offer 4096 stream processors in conjunction with 32 GB of HBM2 memory, and its clocks are to be much higher than those of the Vega 10 GPU.

Of course, the professional market has nothing to do with us. However, the development of the graphics core in 7nm is certainly the first step for AMD to enter the consumer market. Will this process appear in our computers in the form of truncated “Veg” 20 or maybe Navi? Unfortunately, we still do not know.
