AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 offers good performance for “mining”

In recent months, the interest in mining of cryptocurrencies using graphics processors increased enormously. This has meant that store stocks around the world have been emptied of graphics cards from AMD, as they have been very well suited for the purpose. In the short term, it gives a boost to the company’s finances, but in the long term it is feared that the customers in question will not be attracted to their ecosystem of associated products.

Now, data from two different sources suggest that the company’s new architecture Vega will continue that trend, as the performance of mining is said to be really high. It is the OCUK representative “Gibbo” and a source to Videocardz, who both state that the flagship Radeon RX Vega 64 at least doubles the performance seen at Vega Frontier Edition, from about 30 Megahash per second (MH / s) to 60-100 MH / s .

The increase is said to stem from the latest driver for the card, which in addition to game optimizations indirectly increased the speed of mining. If this is true, it could, among other things, explain why AMD postponed the launch of the architecture in order to ensure good access from day one.
