Android 4.4 KitKat update (mid-range, leaked)

Android 4.4 KitKat update (mid-range, leaked)
– Take a look at these tips, tricks, and solution you can use to make your life much easier with your devices whenever problems arrive and complications which you may find difficult to deal with.

Samsung has already ensured that its high-end phones such as the Galaxy S3, S4, Note 2 and 3 will receive the update to Android 4.4 KitKat although, it is not known for sure when. Regarding its mid-range / low-end phones, nothing was officially announced, although, now a leaked photo suggests that some of its cheaper Galaxy models could also receive the update to that version of Android.

The indicated photograph has been filtered by SamMobile, in which it can be seen that it is an internal document of Samsung, where there is talk of a KRT16 update. This is how it is known technically to Android 4.4 KitKat. The title of it also explicitly states that the mid-range models listed there are “under investigation” to receive the KRT16 update.

Samsung Internal Document Leaked – KRT16 Update

Among the listed phones are the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini (expected to upgrade to KitKat anyway), Galaxy S3 Mini, Galaxy Ace 3, Galaxy S Advance, Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy Core, Galaxy FAME, and Galaxy Fresh.

Image is cropped so there may be other phones involved in this Samsung “investigation”. Furthermore, only the “standard” versions of the telephones are specified in the document. For example, for the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini we only talk about the GT-I8190 model. There is no mention of its other versions that are sold specifically for certain regions of the world.

These Samsung intentions make sense, if they are real. Android 4.4 KitKat can run acceptably on devices with up to 512 MB of RAM, this is the most important requirement, the same with which the aforementioned smartphones meet. In addition, considering the large customer market that Samsung has opened with its mid-range phones, it is a good way to try to retain all of them.
