As a rule, some iPhone users use non-original components when repairing their devices in order to save money. On the official website of Apple, they explained to users what threatens the presence of a non-original camera in the iPhone
The recent iOS 14.4 update introduces a feature that detects the authenticity of iPhone cameras. This feature is available for iPhone 12, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max, and 12 mini users. If iOS is unable to determine the authenticity of the camera on the above devices, a corresponding message will appear with a link to an article with this topic.
A non-original camera can lead to system malfunctions and noticeably degrade the quality of photos and videos. Apple warns of several potential issues:
- the camera will stop focusing normally and the images will be blurry
- incorrect work of portrait mode
- third-party applications using the camera may crash
- incorrect work of preview in real time
Apple also recommends that its users in need of camera repair contact the Official Apple Store.
