ASRock confirms the arrival of motherboards with Intel Z490, H470 and W480 chipsets

After missing the appointment CES 2020, i Intel Core 10th Gen Comet Lake-S desktop processors may now be very close to the official debut. Further confirmation in this regard comes from the motherboard manufacturing partner ASRock which, by updating ASRock Polychrome Sync RGB management software, adds support for new cards based on next generation chipsets Intel 400 series.

The Taiwanese manufacturer thus unveils nine models of motherboard with Z490 chipset, two with H470 chipset and one with the W480; Z490 will represent the top-of-the-range proposal, H470 the one aimed at those who don't have too many demands (especially in overclocking) and W480 will finally be a novelty as it should fill the current gap in the mainstream workstation segment.

At the moment there are no technical details about it, following the new ASRock models for Intel Core CPU 10th gen Comet Lake-S:

Recall that the Intel Comet Lake-S processors will be based on a 14nm +++ production process and, more importantly, will use the new LGA1200 socket, therefore being incompatible with the current generation.

The Comet-Lake line will be the first to offer a 10 core / 20 thread solution in the consumer segment, trying to balance the clear gap with AMD and the 16 core Ryzen 9 3950X. We also remember that the next top of the range Intel Comet Lake-S will be the Core i9-10900K, a very high frequency solution (over 5 GHz) which, however, does not bode well in terms of consumption (we talked about it HERE).
