Asrock Introduces Base Frequency Boost, Its Technology for Overclocking "No-K" Processors

HD Tecnología

Apparently Asrock He didn't mind that Intel restricted overclocking possibilities on its “No-K” processors and “No-Z” chipsets, and launched its new Base Frequency Boost feature to overclock No-K processors even on H-Series and Serial motherboards. B.

This technology allows the base frequency of multiplier-locked processors to be raised, providing improvements of up to 1.1GHz. Obviously working at a higher frequency requires more power, which is why the PL1 of the processor is raised from 65W to 125W. This will also involve more heat generation, so it will be important to keep the processor cool.

If even knowing we are willing to use this function, we can take our CPUs up to 4.2GHz in the best case that is the i5-10500, or have improvements of up to 1.1GHz in the i9-10900, bringing its 10 cores to 3.7GHz.

It will be interesting to test this technology and see what impact it has, not only in terms of performance but also in temperatures, especially knowing that it can be used in Non-Z Chipsets, where VRMs are not as solid in some models. For this, we will have to wait for the availability of both CPUs and motherboards, and there we can get down to work and try this new function.

What do you think about this Asrock technology? Would you buy a brand motherboard just for this feature?
