AMD has been able to enjoy a successful 2019, where the company introduced both processors and graphics cards on 7-nanometer technology. The processors in the Ryzen 3000 and Epyc Rome families were very successful, while the graphics cards in the Radeon RX 5700 series met with fierce opposition from rival Nvidia.
The previously unveiled Radeon RX 5600 XT now gets detailed specifications in the form of marketing materials from Asrock. The material comes from a now deleted Reddit post where Asrock’s upcoming graphics card Radeon RX 5600 XT Challenger D 6G OC is described in detail. In terms of capacity, the Radeon RX 5600 XT is placed between the simpler siblings Radeon RX 5500 XT and RX 5700, where it matches the latter with 2,304 stream processors.

However, the clock frequencies take a step down, with a base frequency of 1,235 MHz and a Boost frequency of 1,620 MHz. The clock frequency for the graphics card’s gaming mode ends up at 1,460 MHz, but since this frequency is typically overclocked by the partner manufacturer, it probably does not match AMD’s reference speed.
In terms of graphics memory, the card is equipped with 6 GB GDDR6, which works against a 192-bit memory interface. The clock memory’s clock frequency ends up at 12,000 MHz, which gives a bandwidth of 288 GB / s. With these specifications, the Radeon RX 5600 XT aims at Nvidia’s Geforce RTX 2060 Super in the upper middle class.
AMD is expected to unveil the Radeon RX 5600 XT during CES 2020, which takes place on January 7-10. SweClockers reports on-site in Las Vegas.
