In recent weeks, several users reported electrical failures in their ROG Maximus Z690 Hero motherboards that left their motherboard without working, which in some cases even caused fires inside the PC, and now the company discovered the cause of said failure, and is offering replacements to affected users.
As confirmed by Asus, the affected motherboards are those that have a serial number that begins with MA, MB or MC. The company suggests verifying the serial number before assembling the PC, and if you have an affected model, send it directly to warranty for a replacement. It is also working with its partners to withdraw the affected models from the market and prevent their sale to avoid inconvenience to potential buyers.
It is curious that a problem of this type happened in 2021 with all the technology that a giant like Asus has at its disposal. Fortunately, even if it is tedious, they are taking care of the problem and offering replacements to affected users, although the ideal would have been to verify this at first and prevent users from seeing their PC literally on fire and getting a scare unnecessary.
