For those who are not satisfied with the reference design, more variants of Nvidia’s latest worsting model are on their way to the market. In the Asus vintage, the well-known cooler DirectCU II returns together with extra lavish power supply in the new graphics card Geforce GTX 780 Ti DirectCU II OC.
Specifications: Geforce GTX 780 Ti DirectCU II OC
The solid newcomer is based, as usual, on the GK110 graphics processor with 2,880 CUDA cores, 384-bit memory bus and 3 GB of memory. Asus speeds up the clock frequencies to 954 and 1,020 MHz at base respective boost, to compare with the reference models 876 and 928 MHz respectively. The memory frequency remains at 7,000 MHz GDDR5.
To provide overclocking space, a 10-phase “digital” power supply with two 8-pin PCI Express connectors according to Asus Digi + VRM is used. This includes a radiator with two fans, of which a hybrid solution with Cooltech design, and four copper heat pipes with a diameter of 10 millimeters.
As a little extra spice to the mash, the graphics card can be color-matched with Asus motherboards. The package includes replaceable metal plates in the colors red (ROG series) and gold (Core series). Without the inserts, the graphics card is black, which for example fits the Rampage IV Black Edition.
The Asus Geforce GTX 780 Ti DirectCU II OC will be available at the turn of the year at the recommended price of SEK 6,490 including VAT.
