Last week Intel unveiled its new 10th Gen Intel Core processors, and while the embargo for reviews is not yet over, a Chinese site released its review of the i5-10400, revealing its performance and power consumption.

The chip's synthetic performance is excellent compared to the i5-9400F, its predecessor of the 9th. Generation, showing 39% improvement in Cinebench R15, 34% improvement in Cinebench R20, and 97% improvement in Winrar Benchmark. It is undoubtedly a great generational leap thanks to the incorporation of HyperThreading, so if you were planning to buy an i5-9400F, we recommend waiting for this new model.

On the gaming side, we have GTA V above and Assasin’s Creed Odyssey below. Although the i5-10400 is the winner in both cases, it is not so much the difference compared to the last generation as to justify an update.

It will be interesting to see more tests of both this model and the unlocked i5, the i5-10600K, since they are usually the best alternatives between price and performance within what is Intel.

Tenth generation Intel Core processors will hit the market later this month. There is no specific date confirmed yet.

What do you think about this performance of the Intel Core i5-10400? Are you interested in this processor?
