Berlin bans Christmas lighting on two main streets
BERLIN, Sep 13 – PRIME. The Senate of Berlin has confirmed that this year it will not spend money on Christmas garlands on the capital’s famous Kurfürstendamm boulevard and on another well-known Berlin street, Unter den Linden, the German news agency dpa reported, citing city senator Stefan Schwarz.

According to him, the Senate decided back in 2020 not to continue financial support for Christmas lighting from 2022. Last year, 250 thousand euros were allocated for Christmas lighting in the Charlottenburg district of Berlin on the Kurfürstendamm, and 160 thousand euros in the Mitte district on the Unter den Linden boulevard.
