Biostar makes Radeon RX 470D for “mining”

Called mining of cryptocurrencies remains a popular and potentially profitable occupation. Manufacturers are not late to hook up with the train and recently custom graphics cards from Asus and Sapphire have been launched, as well as a motherboard with as many as twelve PCI Express connections from Biostar.

Biostar is now launching the new graphics card VA47D5RV42, which is mainly for mining. It is a scaled-down Polaris 10 circuit previously used for the China-exclusive Radeon RX 470D card. These are 1,792 stream processors, instead of 2,048 for the RX 470 and RX 570, with a 256-bit memory bus.

In terms of clock frequencies, a turbo frequency of 1,200 MHz is stated along with 7,000 MHz for its 4 GB GDDR5 memory. Remarkably, the card is fully equipped with video outputs, something that is otherwise usually omitted for mining cards. Here, Biostar instead offers three Displayports, an HDMI and finally a DVI.

Biostar has so far not released any price information for VA47D5RV42 and it is not yet known if it will reach the Swedish market.
