Square Crypto working on a development kit which will help developers to integrate the solution Lightning to their portfolio Bitcoin.
Square Crypto, the crypto-subsidiary of the American payment company Square, announced the upcoming arrival of its first product dedicated to the first cryptocurrency on the market.
The startup is currently working on the design of a development kit for the Lightning Network which will facilitate the work of developers using the second layer of the blockchain Bitcoin.
“We have spoken to dozens of portfolio developers. What we heard was a desire for flexibility when integrating Lightning. So rather than creating a stand-alone Lightning node, we are creating a Lightning Development Kit (LDK) which will provide developers with a convenient way to create personalized experiences, ”Square Crypto wrote on his blog.
The Lightning network is a so-called "layer 2" payment protocol that works over a blockchain. Today it is presented as THE solution to the problem of scalability of Bitcoin.
This autumn, AT FIVE, a young French shoot that focuses on its development, has raised $ 8 million.
According to Square Crypto, the kit will include an API, demo applications and everything that makes the integration of Lightning "Easier, more secure and configurable".
Founded last year by Jack dorsey, the co-founder of Square and Twitter, the company's main ambition is to improve the user experience of Bitcoin for the general public.
