Bitmain creates a platform for mining industry participants

Chinese mining giant Bitmain has announced the creation of a platform on which owners of cryptocurrency mining equipment and owners of mining farms can find each other faster.

The official launch of the service called the World Digital Mining Map (WDMM) was decided to be held at the miners summit, which will be held from October 8 to 10 in Frankfurt. All summit visitors will be able to get priority access to the platform.

“WDMM will allow owners of cryptocurrency mining equipment and owners of mining farms to find each other faster. In the long run, this will make cryptocurrency mining more sustainable, ”said Matthew Wang, director of mining farms at Bitmain, in an official press release.

The service will serve as an open market where individual miners will be able to find the most favorable conditions for equipment placement for them. Site search will be carried out according to criteria, among which the capacity of farms and their energy efficiency.

In addition, Bitmain promises to provide support in the construction, maintenance and customer relations of all cooperating farm owners. At the same time, the company did not specify whether it would independently invest in farms and charge fees for using the market place.

Recall that last month Bitmain placed an order to purchase 600,000 chips for cryptocurrency mining.
