The Microsoft Store app is a standard UWP app. It is installed when Windows 10 and you use the Microsoft account that you have added to Windows 10 to download applications. The store app is not the most stable app that Microsoft has developed. You have problems and sometimes the application does not download at all. If you can’t download an app from the Microsoft Store, try the solutions below.

1. Run the store troubleshooter

Microsoft knows that the store app malfunctions from time to time. It has a built-in troubleshooter for the Store app.

  1. Open the Settings application with the Win + I keyboard shortcut.
  2. Go to Update and security.
  3. Select the Troubleshooting tab.
  4. Click Additional troubleshooters.
  5. Run the Windows Store app troubleshooter.
  6. Apply all fixes that you recommend.

2. Enable the Windows Defender firewall

You must have Windows Defender firewall enabled to download apps from Microsoft Store.

  1. Opened Control Panel.
  2. Go to System and Security> Windows Defender Firewall.
  3. In the left column, click Enable or disable Windows Defender Firewall.
  4. Turn on the firewall for public and private networks.

3. Check the date and time

Make sure your system date and time are correct. If not, you will have trouble installing apps from the Microsoft Store.

  1. Open the Settings application with the Win + I keyboard shortcut.
  2. Go to Time and language.
  3. Go to the Date and time tab.
  4. Enable Set the time automatically.

4. Reset the Store app

You can reset the Windows Store app. You won’t lose any data in the process and you won’t have to add your Microsoft account to the store app again.

  1. Tap on the Win + R keyboard shortcut to open the run box.
  2. In the run box, Enterokay wsreset and tap Enter.
