Colorful shows the Geforce GTX 980 Ti Igame with fully integrated water cooler

The Chinese company Colorful is relatively unknown in the western world, but is still considered one of the world’s largest manufacturers of graphics cards, much thanks to sky-high sales figures in the home country. The company has made itself known for its special creations to say the least and at Computex 2015 this is taken to a new level.

Colorful Geforce GTX 980 Ti Igame is based, as the name suggests, on Nvidia’s newly launched graphics card. Under the hood, the GM200 graphics processor houses 2,816 CUDA cores, to an as yet unknown factory overclocking, and 6 GB of GDDR5 memory. A closer look at the back edge of the graphics card gossips that something very special is hidden behind the shell of the giant cooling device.

With the fan package removed, a water block with integrated pump appears. Unlike other solutions, no separate radiator is used. Instead, the existing heat sink is used to cool the circulating water. In addition, six heat conduction tubes can be seen with direct contact with the graphics processor that distributes the heat from the cooling plate.

However, water cooling is not running continuously but is only activated when it is really needed. In practice, this means that the graphics card is air-cooled at GPU temperatures below 69 ° C. Above this limit, the water pump is activated automatically to provide better cooling under heavier loads.

The Colorful Geforce GTX 980 Ti Igame currently looks to be exclusive to the Chinese market. However, the company’s representatives announce that it may also be relevant to invest in Europe, provided that it is possible to conclude a new agreement with Nvidia.
