This year, the general assembly of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIG) didn’t go as usual, crisis requires.
The CCIG certainly became the first Chamber of Commerce in the world to use the blockchain – of which Geneva is one of the strongholds – for its online voting system and one of the first Geneva and Swiss institutions to use it, "read a press release.
The system based on blockchain technology was developed by a member of the CCIG, the young geneva shoot Cryptolex. A hundred people were able to vote from home and elect Laurence de la Serna, the institution’s new president and the first woman in history to hold this position.
Founded in Geneva by Vicken Bayramian and Alec Avedisyan, the startup also provides advice on cryptocurrency and the blockchain States, institutions and businesses.
According to Bayramian, the voting system of Cryptolex is "almost impossible" to hack thanks to its decentralized architecture operating with thousands of knots dispatched all around the planet.
