UN, 26 Sep – PRIME. Damage in the oil and gas sectors of Syria from 2011 to 2022 amounted to $ 107 billion, Damascus is seeking this compensation, said Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad, speaking at the high-level week of the UN General Assembly session.
China urges US to stop illegal export of resources from Syria
He pointed to the problem of unilateral illegal anti-Syrian sanctions imposed by the West, as well as the problem of plundering the wealth of the Syrian people.
“Just one example: according to estimates, direct and indirect losses in the oil and gas sectors of Syria from 2011 to 2022 reach 107 billion US dollars. We are seeking compensation for this damage,” said Miqdad.
