“I would not like to disclose in detail the issues discussed behind closed doors. We are talking about the G7 proposal to determine the maximum price for Russian oil,” Sados said, answering a question from journalists about agreeing on the parameters of a new package of sanctions.

According to him, the exact level of this price will be set “on the principle of unanimity” and may vary depending on world quotes.

At the same time, the EU countries failed to agree on the inclusion of diamonds from Russia in the number of sanctioned goods, the Polish ambassador said.

“Unfortunately, diamonds are the defeat of one country, one city in the EU,” Sados said, referring to the resistance of Belgium, whose Antwerp is considered the diamond capital of the world.

“It is difficult to explain from an ethical point of view why diamonds should be excluded from the sanctions lists,” he added.
