According to CoinDesk, the European Commission has published a financing offer for defense solutions based on new technologies. The list of 42 areas of interest includes innovative blockchain concepts.
The program will accept proposals for “infrastructure, cloud-based real-time digital twin premise receiving robustness blockchain technologies”. The basis of the project would be to improve current military logistical needs, such as maintenance, supply chains and energy supplies.
European industrial development program for defense (EDIDP) issued on March 24, has a total value of 254 million dollars. It is dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that offer innovative technologies for civil and defense purposes.
Proposals can be submitted starting April 15, the deadline being listed on December 1, 2020. However, it may be extended due to delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
