GeForce RTX 3000 and Radeon RX 6000 video cards, the prices do not go down rather they go up

The prices of the latest generation video cards do not go down, on the contrary they are rising. The analysis of the German site 3DCenter.org photographs a substantial stagnation of the situation after a few months of decline which led to think of a possible decline towards the list prices communicated by the producers; unfortunately it was a vain hope.

Even if the data refer to the German and Austrian market, the situation is certainly no different in the rest of the world. In August the cards GeForce RTX 3000 plots have seen their average price rise from 150% to 159% compared to the price list (100%), while AMD’s RX 6000 proposals went from 159% to 164%.

In the case of NVIDIA, the data reverses a trend that saw the average price of the RTX 3000 series go down for over three months. Prices for GeForce cards range from + 17% on the MSRP for the new RTX 3080 Ti up to + 74% on the RTX 3080.

On the front AMD Prices have not gone up as much as they have for NVIDIA in previous months but now the average increase on the MSRP even higher than that of the rival. As for the models, 3DCenter recorded a 21% higher price for the RX 6600 XT compared to the list, while the RX 6800 practically unobtainable and the few available are 95% more expensive on average than AMD feared at launch.

The availability of video cards does not seem likely to improveIndeed, for some models such as the RTX 3060 and the RTX 3060 Ti, even a further aggravation of the situation could occur according to rumors. NVIDIA, through the mouth of CEO Huang, said that production problems should continue for some time over the next year. Also not to be forgotten is the TSMC variable, whose increases in chip production will certainly impact on the final price of products, including video cards.
