Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1080 in classes G1 and Xtreme Gaming on Computex

This year’s theme at Computex has undoubtedly been the new graphics cards from Nvidia’s Pascal series, where both the GTX 1080 and the newcomer GTX 1070 have been shown. Many manufacturers take the opportunity to focus on their own solutions for the GTX 1080 top card, including Gigabyte, which demonstrates companies’ own cooling solutions.

The company’s G1 series is making a comeback and includes a radiator with three 80 mm fans and eight phases of power supply. At the time of writing, the clock frequencies are not ready, something that is expected to be clear soon.

The larger variant goes under the company’s Xtreme Gaming series and includes three 100 mm fans with double ball bearings that are wrapped around each other, thus reducing the size of the card. This also means a slightly different design on the fan blades that is significantly narrower at one end so as not to collide with each other. The circuit board is of its own design which is considerably larger than the reference and is rumored to have 14 phases of power supply.

In addition, Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming has two internal HDMI ports, which are intended to be forwarded either to the company’s 5.25 “or plug-in card, which both have two HDMI ports. These are intended to simplify the connection of VR solutions.

Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 is expected to appear in stores soon with a recommended price of SEK 7,600, while Xtreme Gaming has not yet set a price or store date.
