How to fix bad sectors issue in Windows 11/10

Operations such as backing up files to a hard drive may fail if there are bad sectors on the drive. A bad sector means a part of the drive that cannot be used any more because it might be inaccessible or physically damaged or for a similar reason. If your machine is old, you might encounter the problem of bad sectors quite a bit. It is very important to repair the bad sectors on your drive because you might lose the data in the bad sectors. Solution: Run the CHKDSK command

Paso 1: On the taskbar, click the Search icon.

Paso 2: Now in the search bar, writes on cmd and click Execute as an administrator to open the command prompt in elevated mode.

Step 3: When CMD opens, copy and paste the following command and press the button Get into wrench.

sfc /scannow

This command scans all protected system files and replaces them if they are damaged.

Wait while the scan runs to completion.

Stage 4: Although the sfc The scan is useful for repairing corrupted system files, the main command you should use to fix bad sectors on your device is the chkdsk command. This command runs a scan on the drive you specify and then tries to find if there are any bad sectors on it. If found, those bad sectors can be fixed, giving the list of arguments required for chkdsk.

to run the chkdsk command, in the elevated cmd, writes In the next command and hit the Get into wrench.

chkdsk <drive_letter>: /f /r

Note: The should be replaced with the letter of the drive you want to scan and repair. The argument /F fixes structural problems with the file system. The argument /r would fix the damaged parts on your disk.
