How to fix Google Meet not working on Android

Google Meet doesn’t have a dedicated desktop app for Windows or macOS, but it does have apps for Android and iOS. The Google Meet mobile apps are necessary if you want to receive a Google Meet call on the go and are designed to work on both a WiFi network and a mobile network.

Fixed Google Meet not working on Android

To join a Google Meet meeting on Android, you need to sign in to the Google Meet app with your Google account. Beyond that, you need to make sure the app has access to the mobile network if you use it on the go. If you can’t connect a call, or if you connect and can’t hear or see anyone, try the solutions below.

Exit and rejoin

Google Meet is generally a stable app and service, but you can run into trouble with connections, especially on the go.

  1. Exit / end the meeting.
  2. Once the meeting is over, open the Settings app on your Android phone.
  3. Go to Applications or Application Manager (differs by device and OS version).
  4. Select the Google Meet application.
  5. Touch Storage & Cache.
  6. Tap Clear storage.
  7. Tap Clear cache.
  8. Return to the previous screen.
  9. Tap Force stop.
  10. Open the Google Meet app.
  11. Join the meeting again.

Update the app

The Google Meet application must be kept up to date. It is used to connect to a service, and if the application is out of date, the service may have trouble working with it.

Go to the Google Play Store, find the Google Meet app in your library, and update it.

Reinstall Google Meet

The Google Meet application may have problems that cannot be solved by clearing the cache. In this case, it is better to uninstall and reinstall the application.

  1. Press and hold the Google Meet app icon until a menu appears.
  2. Select Uninstall from the menu.
  3. Once uninstalled, download the app again from the Google Play store.

Try to sit

If Google Meet is having trouble maintaining a stable connection on an Android device, try to stop moving. Your device may have trouble maintaining a connection while on the go. If you need to use Google Meet on the go, that is, when you are not connected to a WiFi network, try to stay in one place. If you are in a moving vehicle, it is best to get out and sit down to receive the call.

conclusion

Google Meet, like any other service, can have problems. If the service doesn’t work, you won’t be able to fix it. You have to wait for Google to solve the problem completely. To check if the service is not working, check the Google Service Status Page.
