How to fix Outlook keeps sending emails to spam or junk folder

Email clients and services have built-in spam filters. These filters are necessary as spam arrives regularly and it is not humanly possible to sort everything manually. It is always better to let the filters do their job.

Outlook keeps sending junk or spam emails

Outlook has a junk mail folder which is the name you have given your junk mail folder. Filter messages based on the domain they came from and based on the content of the message. The filter is not bad; You will find that most of the messages that are sent to your spam or junk mail folder belong there. You’ll see some messages go through your filters and end up in your main inbox. Important emails can also be sent to spam or junk folder occasionally. If you have too many important emails that are going to be junk or spam, try the solutions below.

1. Whitelist email

If Outlook sends an important email to your Junk or Junk folder, the first thing to do is whitelist the email address. You can manually mark a message as “not spam” and move it to your main inbox. This will tell Outlook that the sender is safe and Outlook will also learn that the content of the message is not spam. You will apply this to future incoming messages.

  1. Opened Panorama.
  2. Select the spam folder in the left column.
  3. Select message which has been mistakenly sent to the spam folder.
  4. On the Home tab, click the spam icon and select Never block sender’s domain.

2. Save the email as a contact

You can add an email as a contact. Outlook will not send emails from a contact to the spam folder.

  1. Opened Panorama.
  2. Select the Junk mail folder.
  3. Select a message.
  4. Right-click on the sender’s email.
  5. Please select Add to Outlook contacts.

3. Create a rule to overwrite the spam filter.

You can create rules to prevent important messages from going to your spam folder. This is the way to go if you are not sure which email / domain a message will come from, but have some idea of the language to be used or if you know a word that will be in the subject or body of the message.

  1. Opened Panorama.
  2. Go to File> Rules and Alerts.
  3. Click New rule.
  4. Schoose Move posts with specific words in the subject to a folder.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Click Specific word.
  7. Enter the word want to whitelist.
  8. Click Specified Folder and select Inbox.
  9. Click Next and then Next again.
  10. Give the rule a name.
  11. Finish setting it up.

conclusion

If you have set up a non-Microsoft account in Outlook, check the spam filters that your email service has set up. The email service can apply filtering and Outlook simply syncs it with the spam folder.
