Independent hard drive controllers
This option will cost us some money, but it is really the right one and the one that most closely resembles high performance servers. It implies an external and independent controller that is the one that supplies power to the hard drives, so that the Hot Plug will send the disconnection order to the HDD and we We can manually turn off its power from the controller.
There are many types, but the most recommended are undoubtedly those that have an independent and external regulation of the power supply, so that it supplies the power, but said controller is responsible for letting it circulate and turn off the hard drives, Intermediate bridge.
Some of these controllers have for many units independently, so these will be logically more expensive than the simplest for common PCs.
