In Malaysia, blockchain will be used to combat fake diplomas

The Ministry of Education of Malaysia introduced the E-Skrol system, based on the NEM blockchain and designed to combat fake education diplomas.

The number of cases of falsification of certificates of higher education in Malaysia is growing – now a fake diploma can be ordered even through the Internet. The E-Skroll system, which allows you to determine the authenticity of a certificate of education, will help to solve this problem.

According to the local news agency Bernama, the E-Skrol blockchain system will be available to all public and private universities in the country. Malaysian Education Minister Dr. Maszlee Malik noted:

“There are people who enjoy the reputation of state universities in Malaysia and fake education diplomas to improve their resumes. I believe that the blockchain system will be able to change the current state of affairs. ”

Malik emphasized that thanks to the system, any person anywhere in the world will be able to verify the authenticity of a diploma from a graduate of a Malaysian university. To do this, you must use the mobile application and scan the QR code, which is applied to the certificate of education.

Note that Malaysia is becoming a fairly developed country in terms of using the blockchain – the state has even simplified obtaining work visas for specialists working in this field.
