In Ukraine, they believe that the energy independence of the country depends on the United States

MOSCOW, August 31 – PRIME. The government of Ukraine, together with the United States, will increase the country’s resilience in the energy sector, which will ensure energy independence in the future, said Oleksiy Chernyshov, Minister for the Development of Communities and Territories of the country.

Chernyshov, during a working trip to the United States at the head of a government delegation, met with Amos Hochstein, senior adviser to the Department of Energy Security. The parties discussed support for urgent renovation and preparation for the heating season in Ukraine.

“Cooperation with the United States in the energy sector is one of the key areas on which our independence is based,” Chernyshov wrote on his Telegram channel.

He noted that during the discussion they “deeply plunged” into the issues of energy security and the passage of the heating season. According to him, it is historically important for Ukraine to develop backup options in case of emergencies, so that each community and the state as a whole are prepared for them.

The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said earlier that the community, together with the United States, would solve the problem of transatlantic security in the field of energy and help Ukraine ensure its security, and would also work to increase reverse flows within the framework of the gas transport infrastructure existing in Europe.
