The National Research Institute for Digital Science and Technology (Inria) and the Parisian laboratory Nomadic Labs have signed a framework agreement to support research on blockchain technology.
According to a press release shared with Cryptonaute, through this partnership,INRIA and Nomadic Labs have already launched and funded 4 research actions.

Research on the Tezos blockchain
Founded in 2015 in Paris, Nomadic Labs is the main research and development laboratory for Tezos. Certain research actions are therefore naturally oriented towards Tezos blockchain and its applications.
"The project Tezos already funds many academic research programs at the best international level, it made sense for us to conclude a strategic partnership withINRIA, which is a world benchmark in its field and from which many technologies we use today come from, "commented Jérôme Chailloux, president of Nomadic Labs.
In addition, Tezos uses programming language ocaml which is the direct result of decades of research at the heart of the project teams of theINRIA.
According to Didier Rémy, the research director of theINRIA, "This collaboration is also an opportunity for research, because all the subjects relevant to technology Tezos are also intrinsically interesting, very topical, and will necessarily have other applications than blockchains alone. "
