Intel Core i7-12700H for notebook is 47% better than Ryzen 9 5900HX in Cinebench

In the first quarter of 2022 Intel will be announcing Alder Lake CPUs for mobile devices and unsurprisingly the leaks are already coming. That being said the i7-12700H was spotted in the Cinebench benchmark on a rig that could be an MSI GE76 Raider 12UH and the results show impressive performance gains.

The processor has six Golden Cove cores and eight Gracemont cores for a total of 14 cores and 20 threads.

The i7-12700H has a configurable base TDP of 35 W – 45 W and the benchmark sample was running at a base frequency of 2.9 GHz. The processor scored 689 points in Cinebench R20 with a single core, this is a 12 % faster than the Core i9-11950H and 21% faster than AMD’s top-of-the-range CPU the Ryzen 9 5900HX.

Intel’s i7 is 47% better than the Ryzen 9 5900HX

The processor extends its performance gain in Cinebench R20 in multi-core mode giving a score of 7158 points, 47% above the Ryzen 9 5900HX with 8 cores and 16 threads. Also in multi-core performance it is 49% faster than the Apple M1 Max in Cinebench R23.

AMD is preparing its Ryzen 6000 processors for 2022 that will compete with these Alder Lake chips, but we have yet to see many other benchmarks to compare them.
