A few hours ago, Intel unveiled its first Iris Xe discrete graphics adapter with the energy-efficient Xe-LP architecture for office and home personal computers and is officially available only in turnkey systems. Naturally, a number of enthusiasts would not mind testing new items, but not all processors and motherboards will be compatible with the Iris Xe graphics adapter, the resource reports.
Intending to receive one of the new products for its subsequent comprehensive testing, the source’s specialists addressed this question directly to Intel representatives, to which they received an answer that would not please some enthusiasts too: for example, the Iris Xe discrete video adapter will function only in tandem with Intel 9 desktop processors. 10th and 10th generations belonging to the Coffee Lake-S Refresh and Comet Lake-S families, and will also be able to “make friends” with motherboards based on the H310C, B365, H410 and B460 system logic sets only with a special BIOS version …
