Intel unveils its first discrete PC graphics card with Xe architecture and 4GB memory

Intel continues its systematic advance into the graphics market – today the company announced its first discrete graphics adapter with Xe architecture, designed for desktop computers. VideoCardzbased on the data of the official press release and information from the website Hardwareluxx.

Intel Iris Discrete Graphics Xe (also known by the codename DG1) is manufactured using the 10nm SuperFin process technology and is based on the energy efficient Xe-LP architecture. The graphics processor of the novelty has 80 execution units at its disposal, but there is no information on the GPU clock speeds yet.

Intel Iris Xe graphics cards are designed for use as part of ready-made systems, so they are unlikely to appear officially in retail. The first companies to be entrusted with the release of new products will be ASUS and Colorful – a model from the Taiwanese manufacturer, codenamed DG1-4G, will receive passive cooling and DisplayPort, HDMI and DVI connectors, while the new product from the Chinese company will acquire two fans.
