IOTA, Dell, and Linux Foundation Develop Data Reliability Platform

IOTA Distributed Registry Technology Provider, technology giant Dell Technologies, and the Linux Foundation have announced a collaboration on the Alvarium project.

In a press release, the Linux Foundation announced that it was developing a new Alvarium project with the support of several major industry giants – Dell Technologies, IOTA Foundation, and IBM. MobiledgeX and the global IT company Unisys will also take part in the project.

A project based on a code from Dell Technologies aims at the Data Confidence Fabric concept, which provides an assessment of the reliability of data coming from various sources. When creating the platform, IOTA developments in the field of distributed registry technology will also be used.

Dell’s CTO Jason Shepherd said data reliability will help organizations, including blockchain companies, meet various requirements, such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

As sensitive data begins to be placed on the blockchain, various organizations and industry participants are developing methods to verify the origin and reliability of this data. For example, in July, Fujitsu introduced blockchain-based identification technology.

Recall that in September IOTA introduced the Chronicle solution for long-term data storage. In addition, the company, in conjunction with automaker Jaguar Land Rover, has begun developing the concept of proof of concept (PoC) for energy tracking for charging cars using DLT.
