Iraqi Foreign Minister: Oil prices could rise to $150 per barrel

UN, 27 Sep – PRIME. The price of oil may reach $150 per barrel in the coming months, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein expressed this opinion in an interview with RIA Novosti on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Oil prices accelerated growth rates

“We are approaching winter and I have a feeling that the price of oil will go up and up in the coming months. Perhaps it will reach 150 (dollars per barrel) or so, ”he said.

Hussein said that if oil prices remain high and rise even more in the winter, it will hit the economies of non-oil-producing countries.

In addition to the seasonal factor in the growth of oil prices, the diplomat also noted the impact of anti-Russian sanctions on the cost of hydrocarbons.

World oil prices on Tuesday afternoon accelerate the growth rate to more than 1%, however, the factors restraining this growth continue to operate, according to trading data and analyst comments. As of 13.01 Moscow time, the price of December futures for Brent crude oil jumps by 1.27%, to $83.91 per barrel, November futures for WTI – by 1.15%, to $77.6. In the morning, oil also rose in price, but at a slower pace.
