Kazakhstan temporarily banned the export of coal by road
ASTANA, 19 Sep — PRIME. The authorities of Kazakhstan have adopted an order temporarily prohibiting the export of coal from the country by road.
“The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan adopted Order No. 514 dated September 14, 2022 on limiting the export of coal from the country by road,” the ministry’s press service said.
As stated in the explanatory note, the measure will be valid for six months and will affect hard coal in briquettes, pellets or other types of this fuel. It is expected that such a restriction will prevent the export of coal intended for the population to neighboring countries for resale, contribute to the achievement of the goals of the 2022-2023 heating season and help avoid fuel shortages during a period of strong demand.
