Korean mobile operator Union Mobile launches Elynet blockchain project

The fourth-largest South Korean mobile operator Union Mobile has announced the launch of the blockchain project Elynet.

In a press release
It is reported that the new project should help in the implementation of the blockchain in the telecommunications sector. This should make the industry cheaper and more reliable, especially for customers using only one operator. Union Mobile plans to reduce or completely eliminate roaming fees due to the project.

“The project will help us grow our business. When a user connects to communication networks through their own Elynet operating system, they will be able to buy data packets using the ELyX token. This will allow them to enjoy access to the Internet anywhere in the world without roaming margins, ”said Union Mobile CEO Seyong Ro.

Through the use of distributed registry technology, Elynet hopes to increase Union Mobile’s customer base.

Earlier it was reported that large South Korean companies, including several telecom operators, are planning to launch a blockchain identification system in 2020.
